New Build Apartments; Albert’s Gateway
New-build Apartments; Albert’s Gateway. Acrylic on Canvas 2013-14. 112 cm x 142cm. In many ways a companion piece to Side Street Reflection, a work based on a drawing made from multiple of photographs, some taken on later visits from different vantage points, mostly in order to facilitate the editing out of the multiple parked cars. Car styles and models change and can link an image with a particular period. I have sought to avoid that in these works, stripped of such details, unless there is another phase of major redevelopment this location could look basically the same in 10, 20, or even 30 years.
